Tomorrow is garbage day, so I’ll spend some time emptying the garbage cans in the house into the larger trash can outside and push it out to the curb for pickup. I’ll collect the recycling too, as it goes out every other week. That’s my normal Tuesday night routine. I bet you perform the same at some point during your week.
It made me wonder how much “trash” from my past that I am still lugging around and why I haven’t kicked it to the curb. Heck, I’d even hazard a guess and say you’re in the same boat as me with this!
Why don’t we just let it go? Why can’t or don’t we just hand it over to God a.k.a “The Great Garbageman” and just have Him deal with it?
After all, He loves us. He loves us so very much He sent His only son to die for us. Certainly no bag from our past is too big & stinky for Him!
Okay now, really, why don’t we take all our troubles to God, “The Great Healer”? Why do we seem to think we can handle everything ourselves, even when we know we can’t?
How much easier/better would life be if we just gave all our troubles to God and never gave them a second thought ever? You do want life to be easier, right?
